2nd Tuesday Flashlight Online Users and Administrators Group

Our "Second Tuesday" online gathering for Flashlight users is scheduled for 4 PM ET (1 PM PT) on Tuesday.  (Mark your calendar also future Second Tuesdays:  April 13, May 11, June 8). Our agenda is a full one this month.  We're about to make about a dozen folders of Flashlight surveys, item banks, and rubrics available to you, and we'd like your advice about how to do it. We'll show you what's coming, and ask what other sorts of Flashlight tools you'd like.  Here is a summary of what's in those folders:

There aint so no such thing as a free lunch, so we'll invite you to consider co-authoring with us the survey, item bank, rubric or other online form that you or your colleagues need the most. In other words, we'll put in half the work, to help you develop the best possible form, if it's something that at least a few other institutions might also want to adopt or adapt.

Of special interest to many subscribers are forms that faculty can use to gather feedback from students. We've been developing a collection of such feedback forms, along with workshop materials to help faculty learn about them: the "Asking the Right Questions (ARQ)" collection of materials. How can we get these materials into wider use?  Or, to put it another way, how can the TLT Group help your institution foster better assessment and improve the scholarship of teaching and learning?  That's what we'd like to discuss with you. Here are the ARQ materials:

Final agenda item: the old Flashlight Online 1.0 only has a couple weeks before shutdown, at which time all those old surveys and data will be destroyed. Any questions?
Here's the web page with advice for how you or your colleagues can transition away from 1.0:

Second Tuesday sessions are FREE.  Admission is limited to people with Flashlight Online accounts.

(You can get an account for free if your institution has a Comprehensive or Network subscription, if you have the single account that Alliance subscribing institutions receive, or if you are an Individual TLT Group Member who has purchased a Flashlight Online authoring account.  Contact David McCurry if you need to set up a Flashlight Online account.)

Leader: Steve Ehrmann

NOTE:  Login instructions for the session will be sent in the Registration Confirmation Email. Please check your Junk folder as sometimes these emails get trapped there. We will also send an additional login reminder 24 hours prior to the start of the event.
