Date: April 12 - April 19, 2017
Guests and Moderators: Rick Reo, Instructional Designer, George Mason University
Steve Gilbert, TLT Group
Beth Dailey, TLT Group
This Small Private Online Workshop (SPOW) is to assist in the development of a social media-based learning activity. In this 8 day SPOW you will have an opportunity to explore and evaluate a broad range of social media tools. By social media tools we are referring to tools used for digital media creation, social networking, or content curation. A framework for choosing a social media tool(s) appropriate for your learning activity will also be shared.
The SPOW is open to 24 participants from members of the TLT Group and George Mason University staff. As a participant you will have the opportunity to engage in dialog and construction with your SPOW colleagues. The workshop is hosted on CourseSites.com a Blackboard, Inc. open course platform that is very similar to Blackboard Learn. Three synchronous events are planned using the TLT Zoom webinar platform. You are encouraged to attend these events though they will be recorded:
Wednesday, April 12, 2017, 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET
Monday, April 17, 2017 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET
NOTE: Login instructions for the session will be sent in the Registration Confirmation Email. Please check your Junk folder as sometimes these emails get trapped there. We will also send an additional login reminder 24 hours prior to the start of the event.
