Conversation with Steve Bell Continues:

Culture of Openness; Whither (Wither?) Print Collections;
Core Values of Libraries/Librarians

On December 8, Bell identified 10 important issues for academic librarians and their libraries. Our follow-up discussion on Jan. 19 will focus more on 3 timely themes that resonated with our participants:

Theme 1: "Culture of Openness" - Why? How? Who?

Theme 2: Where/what is the print collection today?
Who knows? Who cares?

Theme 3: Core Values of Libraries & Librarians:
Affirm, Test, Adapt, Defend?

But the final selection will be based on your responses to a Google Form which lists 10 topics from these themes.  Even if you cannot join us live, please help prioritize the topics via this Google Form.

More info: Detailed description of themes, topics.

Guests:

  • Steve Bell, Associate University Librarian for Research & Instructional Services, Temple University
