WordPress Intro & Quiz Options
[Q&A re CBL/OER]

Intro to WordPress: Why is WordPress important to educators? [Is it a secret?]

  1. WP: Yes/No? What is the quickest way for someone new to WordPress to decide whether or not to take the first step at all?
  2. Open Source:  How is WP's commitment to open source demonstrated? If I use WP, in what ways may/should I use open source ideas, methods?
  3. WP.org vs. WP.com? What's the difference between WordPress.org & WordPress.com?
  4. Online Quizzes:  How can we find, review, ADAPT quizzes or other online activities that were developed via WP - esp. those that are intended for higher education?
  5. Academic Podcasting? What is it? How can WP help? Schedule follow-up session?
  6. Closed Captioning & Other Accessibility Needs: How can WP help? Schedule follow-up session?

Getting Started with WordPress:

  1. Free, Easy, Quick? What can be done via WordPress for free?  With minimal tech expertise? i.e., What kinds of projects or tasks using WP are especially worthwhile for higher education and highly likely to succeed rapidly for someone who is just beginning to use WP? WITHOUT SPENDING ANY $ AT ALL?
  2. Same, but require a little $?
  3. Same, but need help? Someone new to WP should not attempt without a guide or helper or professional assistance? Where can I find support?
