August Symposium: Silver Cloud Symposium

August 8, 14 and 16, 2012 1-2 pm eastern

What do "Silver Cloudians," want and need? [aka people recently retired from the academy,  people considering retirement, people who can/cannot imagine retirement!],
Can tapping into Internet resources and online skills be a way to continue to contribute? Join a
thoughtful discussion among and about the rapidly growing “Silver Cloud” - talented, experienced academics who are moving beyond the traditional endings of their careers.

Join Steve Gilbert, President of the TLT Group and Director of the Online Institute, and guests as we explore this topic together and collaboratively create specific online workshops to be offered by TLT Group in 2012-2013 - from and for silver cloudians.
Guest presenters will share their stories and information.

If you’re interested in thinking with us about these issues and how to address them, you’ll be welcome at the Symposium.  If you have ideas or experiences which are relevant, you’ll be welcome to share them.  If you want the experience of participating in a “fishbowl”, you’ll be welcome to join us.

We welcome all in higher education - faculty, librarians, faculty developers, administrators, but we especially encourage small groups of colleagues from the same institution.

The Symposium is free to individual members.  Check your institution's status here if you have your membership through an institutional subscription.

Join us!
Participants for this workshop should sign-in 15 minutes early for tech instructions and to meet others in the group; they also have the option of remaining online for a half-hour follow-up discussion immediately after the workshop.

All of the TLT Group’s online offerings include use of “low threshold” tools, examination of controversial issues, options for participants with a range of experience, and suggestions for assessment as you integrate what you’ve learned into your repertoire.
